The LCD handset lies lightly and ergonomically in the hand. He has a large backlit display and 3 buttons. The handset offers customised control levels for patients, care staff and technical personnel.

Patient level
By default, the patient level is set, on which the adjustment functions of the bed can be easily selected and used. Above you can see the adjustment of the backrest for example. Press the “up” or “down” arrow keys to raise or lower the backrest.
To select a different adjustment feature simply use the top rocker switch to move right or left through the possible options on the display. In the picture: the height adjustment of the mattress base.

Level for care staff
To move from the patient level to the care staff level, hold the handset in front of the orange unlock magnet. On the Puro, it is located under the safety sides at the foot end, while on the Evario it is integrated into the head end element of the Protega safety sides.
At the care staff level, you can also navigate through the options with the top rocker switch. Beyond the CPR position there are e.g. the Trendelenburg position and the individual locking of all adjustment functions to choose from. For example, you can use the “up” and “down” arrow keys to lock and unlock the backrest or the thigh rest. The care staff level is intended for rapid action in emergency situations and the management of functions. The normal use of the patient level’s control functions is not included here.

Level for care staff: special functions and locking functions
EasyCare – Operating despite lock
As a nurse, you have locked some adjustment functions for the patient, but you want to use them quickly and easily yourself? Then select the EasyCare operating level. Keep the rocker switch pressed on both sides while holding the handset in front of the magnet until the EasyCare symbol appears on the display.
Now all adjustment functions are available to you, without changing the settings for the patient

To enter the technical staff level, hold down the "up" and "down" arrow keys for 5 seconds in front of the magnet while an exclamation point icon is displayed. The "OK" display confirms the change to the technician level.
Now you can use the rocker switch to navigate through helpful functions – e.g. activate the preset wash position, perform an error analysis or reset the bed.
If the LCD handset is not used for a short while, it switches from each level back to the patient level.
