Stiegelmeyer's goal is to provide the best possible care for people in all stages of life. Children's beds have played an important role in this since the beginning of the company's 125-year history. Now, the family-run company based in Herford is once again expanding its expertise in this area: Stiegelmeyer is taking over the renowned paediatric bed division of the Dutch company Oostwoud International B.V.

Oostwoud is a successful manufacturer of medical children's beds and is also known for its high-quality wardrobe facilities, letterboxes and parcel boxes. The paediatric bed division, with three models that are highly regarded in the Benelux countries, Germany and many other countries, is now being transferred to the hospital division of the Stiegelmeyer Group. Oostwoud will remain a distribution partner for the Benelux countries.

Stiegelmeyer is particularly interested in the modern "Sinne-bêdsje" hospital bed for small children. This model will be incorporated into its own production in the second quarter of 2026. The plan is to re-release it under the name "Milou".

The acquisition is a major gain for Stiegelmeyer. On the one hand, the company is expanding its expertise in the future market of paediatric beds and creating a new solid basis for further developments. On the other hand, this is an important step on the way to becoming a comprehensive solution provider. Stiegelmeyer is now in a better position than ever to offer a full range of beds, furniture, assistance systems and services – true to the company motto "Solutions for people who care".
